Amazing place! This lovely castle is located in a middle of lake! When you visit this castle , you can feel like inside a heart of this world. Magic experience! Around this location, you can walk through beautiful gardens, take some break in cantines. If you want, you can rent some boats and kayaks. I really recommend!

It's a good place to visit. Swans are scary with their babies so stay away. I was there when it was closed but the views are still good from the castle.

It's certainly beautiful, but to take 5 for \entrance\ (basically to be allowed inside the walls) and then charging extra for going to the tower etc is just a tourist trap. Also the gift shop is on the inside. While the guard allows you to enter without a fee it's still very inconvenient.

If you go to Traunsee, you should visit the ancient Castle in Gmunden. There is a museum inside the castle, but you can also walk around the small island, enjoy the view of the lake and the mountains. There is a small restaurant as well for drinks or local food.

(The ***** part) The beautifully located \Seeschloss\ (castle in the lake) is worth a visit. Walk around the castle, enjoy the views of Gmunden and the lake, maybe drink some coffee. You can also snap a picture of the courtyard from the entrance. (The * part) A visit of the interior isn't really necessary. You can look into the coat of arms hall through a glass door. There are some prison cells that contain video monitors, and you can watch one, while standing in the door and blocking the next guy. Other (possibly interesting) videos can be watched while standing. There are three or four rooms with relics of mountaineering from the past century - experts may enjoy this. The castle church - usually one of the rooms that can be visited - was closed, and the cashier bluntly refused to unlock it, because we \would be carrying dirt into the church\ - on a dry day.
