Due to the unhygienic drinking water conditions of the relatively shallow Ilmlitzer Hausbrunnen in the 19th century, which were impaired by livestock husbandry and the high groundwater table, mass stomach and intestinal diseases (occasionally also typhoid diseases) repeatedly occurred during the summer months. The water had a very high potassium (up to 1175 mg / l) and nitrate concentration (up to 1500 mg / l). For comparison: our tap water has about 10 mg / l nitrate. For these reasons, the council of Illmitz under Mayor Jakob Sattler in 1929 decided the drilling of an ARTESIAN FOUNTAIN, which was carried out in 1930. The mineral water popularly called ARTESERWASSER has been available to the public since 1931 free of charge. The source material occurs half-arctic about 3 5 m below the top of the terrain: St. Bartholomew's spring is a \sodium bicarbonate mineral drinking acid\ with a source temperature of 15.6 Celsius from 201 m depth the St. Bartholomew spring declared HEILOUELLE.

Nicht trinkbar. Schmeckt so, wie faule Eier riechen. Nein danke.

Das *Arteserwasser* ist ja angeblich sehr gesund, aber nicht jedermanns Sache vielleicht müsste man es öfter trinken.!! Aber die Leute von der Umgebung dürften es lieben, da sie es in großen Mengen holen!
