I've been there several times as a child and as an adult and I always enjoyed it! Last time we had a tour guide who was "in character" as a woman from the ancient Roman Empire, she was amazing! It doesn't matter how old you are, Carnuntum is always a great place to visit if you have the chance to do so.

Entrance price is 12 euro per adult, kids are free. Not only Ruins, but nice realistic installations as well. Great place for the family trip!

Absolutely fabulous experience! Excavations of this ancient Roman fortress and city have been conducted since 150 years. See detailed reconstructions of kitchens, baths, heating systems - you name it. A great place to take the kids!

Really nice place. Here you can not only see the old ruins, but also reconstruction. So you can interact with interior and image the past life. I just thought the area would be a little bigger.

Great museum where you can see how Romans lived in this area. You can visit old recreated houses and there is a lot of things to do. Also old Roman amphitheatre is close. During the summer time there are som Roman festivals and you can see how it was in Romans age. It's close to Vienna or Bratislava.
