My children have been to ski school here on several return visits to Rauris, and their skiing has significantly improved each time. At Karl Maier skischule they make it fun to ski and they have children’s and adult’s ski races at the end of the week with a certificate & medal ceremony which is good humoured and fun for all. The ski school is very reasonably priced in Rauris and the hire equipment is first class. The staff are very professional and friendly and they like to have fun, especially Conrad who taught my son to be an excellent & elegant skier. Harry will help your skiing needs and he’s has a great source of information about the local area of Rauris. The ski shop is nice and tidy, and as you would expect well equipped. Staff within the shop are very professional and helpful. I have personally hired ski’s, poles and boots from here and the boots were very comfortable with newly maintained skis and decent poles. The shop and ski school meeting place is right next to the 947m ticket office, gondola, beginners ski slope & kindergarten ski area. I’d highly recommend this ski school and hire shop as I personally believe it’s the best one in Rauris.

Sehr nettes Personal! Top Betreuung für Kinder! Hatten unseren 5 Jahre alten Sohn im Anfängerkurs und er konnte nach 4 Tagen bereits die erste kleine Piste fahren...
Am ersten Tag hat mein Sohn (10 Jahre) eine Privatstunde bekommen und da hat er viel gelernt. Das war Top. Am nächsten Tag wurde er in eine (schon bestehende) Gruppe mit 5-6 jährigen gesteckt. Das war furchtbar. Samstags werden Gruppen für den Kurs gebildet. Nach 1 Stunde Wartezeit durfte unser Kind 1x die Piste runterfahren um zu schauen wie weit er ist. Nachdem mein Sohn durchgefroren war, haben wir die Skischule abgebrochen da er wieder in eine Anfänger Gruppe (5-6 jährige) gesteckt werden sollte. Die Skilehrer sind mit Sicherheit super aber die Organisation ist nicht vorhanden. Sehr Schade da es der erste Skiurlaub meines Sohnes war.
Relativ unfreundlich und unkooperativ bei der Kommunikation mit den Eltern, Zitat: \Wir machen das schon 35 Jahre\, Massenabfertigung, lange Wartezeiten an der Gondel und das schlimmste, dass unsere Kinder sich während des Skikurses auf den Pisten weinend im Tiefschnee teilweise allein gelassen vorkamen. Fazit: Never ever. PS. Rauris selbst, 1 Cafe, 2 Supermärkte, kaum Gastronomie, keine Ausflugsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe da im Tal abgeschnitten. Fazit: Es gibt deutlich interesssantere Orte und Skischulen im wunderbaren Österreich.
