奥古施丁，一个普通的民间艺人，因在黑死病猖獗时的特殊表现而留名千古。在那个恐怖的年代，维也纳有三分之一的人在瘟疫中丧生，奥古施丁用幽默语言，快乐的风笛和愉快的歌儿安慰维也纳人痛苦的心灵。 奥古施丁有一段与死尸为伍的故事至今流传：一天夜里，奥古施丁酒醉后倒在大街上，清洁工以为是个死人，把他运到埋尸坑里。第二天他从沉睡中醒来看到周围都是死人，不明白自己怎么会和死尸睡到一起。当他慌忙从死人堆中爬出后，立刻恢复了快乐的天性，一路笑着唱着走回家。后来他还把这段经历编成歌到处演唱，在他献给客人的节目中增加了夜宿尸坑的内容。 奥古施丁的雕像建于1908年。维也纳还有一首流传很广的民歌“啊！可爱的奥古施丁”。
