Was a great museum to visit. Loved seeing the imperial armoury and all the old weapons and armour on display. There were a couple of other exhibitions which were interesting explaining Austrian history around the world. Strongly recommend visiting this museum and enjoying all it has to offer. Reasonable price for everything there is inside of it as well.

We didn't have time to go in but it was one of the more interesting buildings in the area. I first noticed it when we were in the Burggarten and then saw the better side from the Heldenplatz. The curvature of the building was quite interesting and it would have been nice to take a look inside.
It's a great attraction but really isn't worth the 7 euros to enter. You can walk around it in 2 minutes. They do have some beautiful butterflies and the entire place very well maintained.
Truly one of the best buildings in Vienna by a country mile. It is a shame you can't access the upper floors of the Building as it is fully occupied by a bank. However there is a small exhibition on the ground floor to show the history of the building.
During a great guided tour I learned that Emperor Franz Joseph built this building as a guest house. Tip: Have a cup of coffee in the amazingly beautiful entrance area before or water you experience the objects of the Welt museum. Try also the interactive wall where you can share your thoughts with others.
The Neue Burg forms an extended wing from the main Hofburg area and lines one side of Heldenplatz square. The Habsburg winter palace is actually a complex of courtyards and historical tracts that lacks a single standalone gem of a building. But one part does tick all the right architectural boxes: the Neue Burg. Is a beautiful architecture
If you want to learn more about world history, you must come to this place. This museum shows a bit of different cultures around the globe. The architecture of the place itself its beautiful.
Following the enlargement of Vienna after the demolition of the city walls in the 1860s, the Hofburg had its last great expansion. An Imperial Forum (Kaiserforum) was planned, in which a two-winged structure reaching beyond the Ring Road, with the twin museums (Kunsthistorisches Museum and Naturhistorisches Museum) as flanks and terminating at the old Imperial Mews (the Hofstallungen, not to be confused with the much older Stallburg) of Fischer von Erlach. The project was led by Gottfried Semper and later by Karl Freiherr von Hasenauer. The museums were completed in 1891, but construction of the rest of the forum dragged on slowly and conflicted since because of rising costs and no real function could be found for the enormous construction project. In 1913, the south-west wing, the New Castle (Neue Burg), was completed. However, the Imperial Forum was never completed and remains a torso. The New Castle wing today houses a number of museums (the Ephesos Museum, the Collection of Arms and Armour, the Collection of Ancient Musical Instruments, and the Museum of Ethnology) as well as some reading rooms of the national library. The Hofburg Congress Centre is also located here.
