An interesting monument at Stadtpark is that of the Sebastian Kneipp Fountain, situated near the children's playground area on the southeast side of the canal which transects the park. Kneipp was a Bavarian priest in the 19th-century, he is known for being a forefather in naturopathic medicine movement. The monument in his name was designed by Austrian sculptor, Carl Wollek in 1912. Damaged during WWII, the fountain was restored in 1951 to its original condition. This is what you find today. Here you see a bust of Kneipp. Notice the miniature figures at play on both sides of the bronze bust. The statue pedestal includes a large slot opening where water can spout out and on top of the back of a bronze figure of a boy bent over below Kneipp. As expected, the fountain wasn't in operation during my late February visit.

公園の目立つ場所にあります。珍しいデザインに目が留まったものの、後日、あの有名なクナイプ社の名前の元となった方の銅像と知りビックリ。夏場は銅像の台座部分の穴から水が出てくるようです。
