This was brilliant, if you can bare the thought of going down a real sewer with real smells. Actually it's not so bad and more than compensated for by the excellent guide and safety staff. Some great stories in the iconic location where the big chase took place in the film, The Third Man.
Really interesting insights into the functioning of Vienna as a complex city. This Tour, organized by the Canals & Sewage Authority represents an important addendum to every visit of the Austrian Capital because of the historical, ecological and mediatic knowledge you get.
Once your nose adjusts to the scenery, this is a very interesting tour. Some side information about the famous movie along with insight into the workdays of the Viennese sewer workers. I really enjoyed this tour and as a bonus, during a hot day it gives you a welcome break from the heat.
I watched the film during the week prior to visiting Vienna, so to remind me of what to look out for. The tour was booked in advance and we congregated by the kiosk, put on safety hats and set off down the sewers, led by a really good guide. We learnt about the sewer system, the making of the film and what sewers smell like (which isn't too bad in this case). If you like the film, then you'll enjoy the tour. I'd also recommend a visit to Prater Park and the Ferris Wheel.

Short holiday in Vienna, lots of highlights, tje Lippizaner stallions, Albertina museum, Naschmarkt, but this was probably the best. If you've seen the movie, you should go.
