The municipality of Bad Radkersburg has been the owner of a museum since 1935. First presented in the town hall, the objects were shown from 1941 in the main square No. 10. After these had survived the turmoil of war surprisingly well, the city presented the museum collection in a provisional exhibition in the so-called Kindergarten tower as early as 1948. The cultural-historical value of the objects awakened at the then state conservator Dr. Gebhard Frodl great attention. He also supported Radkersburg on the way to the reopening of the museum in 1955 in the rooms of the former armory of the Styrian country estates.
