We were there twice and fully recommend this small family-run restaurant for authentic Sri Lankan food. On the first day we ordered Devilled Chicken, Chicken Kotthu, and String hopper-Kotthu (see photos). Every order is made from scratch by the owners. We took away String Hoppers, Ala Hodi (Potato Gravy), and Sambola (Coconut relish) for breakfast, and that too was delicious. We did not feel that we had enough food on the first day and so went there for a second time and had more Devilled Chicken. The menu is large enough but we were drawn to devilled chicken because we haven't had it in years. If you are not used to spicy food, go for spicy level 2 like my Canadian and German friends did. If, on the other hand, you are used to spicy food, you can go for spicy level 3 or 4; 3 was perfect for me because I was able to soak in all the good Sri Lankan flavours. I, however, think that spicy level 5 is a bit too much by any standard, and you won't taste the flavours anymore at that level, and would leave you gasping for breath. The walls of the restaurant are beautifully painted with murals of Sigiriya citadel (The Lion Rock) in Sri Lanka - an ancient 200 m high rock fortress fully developed during the reign of King Kashyapa between 477 - 495 AD. Seating is also available on the street. Getting there: From Wien Mitte take U1 to Westbahnhof and from there take U6 to NiederhofStraße, and walk 2 mins to Clair's. The owners are very friendly and courteous.

If you want to visit Sri Lanka without leaving Vienna, this is the place for you! A very authentic Sri Lankan Restaurant!
Spicy food & friendly staff! An excellent experience!
Great food, lovely people, will come again And again
Being south indian but having a srilankan root in me was excited when i found this restaurant while carving for some spicy and tasty asian food. I decided to go for a buffet which had a lot of varities for a very affordable price. Basically being a vegetarian they had a seperate menu for the vegetarians and even the buffet contained a lot of vegetarian dishes in them. The service and the ambience was excellent. It has got a typical srilankan look inside, touched me a lot. It just felt like home. Will surely make it a point to come back again.
Good place to dine...
