This is the place to take that iconic picture of Hallstatt! We were debating on taking the ferry boat to and from the other side, but since we were on a tour, we were short on time. From what I heard from people who did take the ferry, it wasn't worth the time or money to do so. So save your money, go to this point and take your iconic picture, then you have plenty of time to explore the rest of Hallstatt! It's so quaint and beautiful and definitely one of my favorite stops in Europe. Note: Visited prior to COVID; things may have changed.

Must visit place for many Chinese people and many others. During Corona less crowded. Some nice buildings to photograph. Many souvenir shops. Best view from church or way along the shore. If you have time taka a two way boat ride with ferry.

Very nice place to make photos of Hallstatt. On the street, nicely placed for very nice photos to be taken. As you walk around and through the village you just bump into this place. We were lucky that on our visiting day there were not so many tourists and we really enjoyed our walk and time in this village.

Just WoW! The entire spot was like a dream or a painted landscape. Everything was the pettiest. A tired and frustrated mind will be recharged within a moment. The boat riding, crystal clear water, seil bahn, tracking, waterfall each and every point is mind blowing. Transport system is also great. Both luxurious and cost effective travel is possible according to preference.

Hallstatt is a picturesque village... Its beautiful to go for a stroll, sit down enjoy the view, hike up to the salt cave... One point that one needs to keep in mind is the amount of tourists. It can be overwhelming when walking in its narrow streets with a crowd of people...

Small and beautiful village. We planed to have a breakfast there. All the restaurants were closed. Most of them will reopen around12:00 (got there around 9:30). However, There is a food-stall just right next to the pier open around 10:00. They have an amazing schnitzel and the tender grill chicken. One more choice if you find nothing to eat. Go all the way to the other side. There is a supermarket there

Beautiful little town with very few people in times of corona. Amazing and surreal vistas.
