I would highly recommend anyone to take a visit. Very welcoming, open, old, and beautiful building. Amazing views and surroundings with easy hiking routes up to the Abby. Underrated. Should be on everyone's need to see the list in Austria! The Abby is mostly barrier-free, you can explore it and will take you about two hours. There is a museum a restaurant and a playground for the kids. I would also recommend taking a detour to Waxenberg if you would like to get a good view of the Abbey. Just follow the signs, also very easy hiking round, should have no problems going with kids or pets.

Very scenic and great view. Would recommend going there. Can not judge about religious stuff as I don’t care about this.

Super cool abbey at the top of Göttweig mountain. The view of the surrounding valley with all of the farmlands and orchards is priceless. Be sure to try the apricot nectar. It's made from apricots that are only grown in this region. I would have bought a crate of bottles if they would have shipped it for me.

Holy History, Batman! The Abbey is a very special place. Incredible panoramic views from around the grounds. We watched a wedding take place in the church after doing a personal tour of the grounds. Wine tastings and a separate restaurant assure you won't go thirsty. The frescoes are amazing. Highly recommend you make time for a visit if in the Wachau Valley.

Absolutely recommend especially for tourists from further away. Don't miss this historical building and the wonderful view over the Danube, which can be enjoyed also while in the restaurant. And please enjoy the apricots, called \Marillen\ and the wine!
