Tierwelt Herberstein is an absolute gem in an already beautiful landscape. The animal park has a wide variety of animals in wide, open enclosures that seem to be very fitting to the animals inside them, providing then with a lot of room to roam about. You can find anything from lions to cheetahs and even arctic wolves here. The entrance fee is pretty fair, considering the high quality of the park. It pays off to wear good shoes. Some of the paths are a bit rugged and some slopes are steep. It might be difficult for people in wheelchairs to get everywhere, but it seems like people still manage regardless. The animal park is adjacent to a castle, which can also be viewed. Some parts of the park provide beautiful, scenic views over the lush landscape. I highly recommend visiting during summer, while everything is green. Walking the whole round tour of the park almost feels a bit like hiking then.
Great place to visit with a small kid. Not too far from GRAZ. They had 3 cubs and the lions are very close. A lot of playgrounds for kids and ta tile farm also. A bit expensive anyway.
Well maintained zoo in Steiermark. The location of the zoo is perfect, there are 3 restaurants inside.Nice playground for the kids, what is missing is the aquarium.
Great place to spend a weekend with kids. The zoo takes half a day at least and there is also a castle nearby.
Very nice place for a family to spend the day. The zoo is nice and large and animal enclosures are big and interesting. The castle is also worth seeing and taking a guided tour. A big shout out and thanks to the castle guide who makes the tour interesting and speaks many languages. There are also many toilets available which is also a plus for an area this big. One star less is the fact that they charge you entrance fee and some things could also be included in the price - like the bus ride. It was also interesting that as the closing time approached almost all the animals went out of sight. But overall a recommended place to see.
Lovely, beautiful and very clean ZOO, we found also lots of playgrounds....stuff unbelievable friendship.....next time we are there again.....
It is better to visit Tierwelt in the morning or in the evening in summer season because mostly animals in the sun will stay inside and you won't have a good chance to watch all of them. Good place to visit for kids and with family.
