Was cool to be there, we got a really nice sunny weekend. But for the price it costed the snow could be better prepared. We had fun in the Après Ski too. And there was so much ice in the Parking that the car next to us was moving and almost crashed us. We had luck it didn't. Cool architecture buildings too.

Atmosphere, etc.: The skiing resort is not what it used to be. The staff is rude. Be sure to exactly buy what you want (difference between 3 Täler and the local ticket)...if you by accident took the wrong one they won't be able to change anything simply because they don't care...wouldn't be a great deal to do so btw. One of the staff members also almost damaged the back of my skiis when he squeezed them in so hard into the skibox of the cable car that they couldn't get them out again on the top. On top of this, the so called Austrian charm has left the village. Even the nearby German skiing resort (Oberstdorf) is more relaxed and enjoyable than this touristy money-printing machinery. Skiing: at 11am most of the slopes are already in bad condition...usually you expect them to hold until 1 or 2 pm. The skiing resort is just badly positioned...the one further into the valley (Warth) is way better on warm and sunny days. This year the skiing resort also lacks of snow in general...usually the region gets quite some snow in the first winter months but apparently it doesn't. The lower slopes had already problems with loose rock and grass coming out. Price: I just came home from a skiing trip in Switzerland where we paid even a bit less for accomodationskiing ticket per person than in Mellau. Even though everybody thinks Switzerland is so expensive, a skiing trip to a not so well known and slightly smaller resort in the Valais will not cost you more. Italy & France are probably even cheaper.
Very nice ski station. completely new and big enough to spend several days. It is not deep in the Alps, so you have to check the amount of snow, but if you have snow...you will defenetly enjoy it
Modern lift system and no queues. The only downside is that the skiing is a bit low with summits just over 2000m so better in the colder part of the season.
The Bergbahnen Mellau were beautifully renewed last year, there is even an escalator now. Very clean, spacious cabins. Friendly staff.
Magic place, love it.
Good value, friendly and supportive staff. Not the fastest nor most modern but it gets you up there safely.
Great ski resort! Quite popular among snowboarders!
