While the views of the nearby vineyard and distant cityscape are breathtaking, I was taken aback after being berated by an angry older gentleman guest for arriving in our shared room “late.” I awoke to him the next morning sitting on a chair in the middle of our room, nude, cleaning his finger nails with a pocket knife. After complaining to the staff, they were understanding but said he was a regular and they had received complaints about him before. Not sure if I’d stay there again...

Pros: 1) amazing view (you can literally see almost all of Vienna from just outside your room) 2) great people to interact with 3) beautiful garden that you can spend hours in and play with other people's dogs 4) tasty buffet (if you opt for it) at just 5.5 5) clean rooms at a very reasonable cost 6) connected by a direct bus from ottakring station Cons: 1) travelling back to the hostel late at night can be an issue as the buses stop operating post 12

The vistas, obviously. The mini golf course is quite hard, surrounded by a hedge. For balls and putters ask at reception. Local linden (lime) trees blossom in July, producing a sweet smell all round the mini golf course. Lots of local people come to the hill with their children and dogs to enjoy the views, have a picnic and walk the dog. It is always a couple degrees colder and windier than in the city centre. The buses to/from the underground station (UBahn) Ottakring or a tram stop run even at midnight and early morning, so there is no need to take a taxi. Buy a ticket not on the bus, but in advance from a machine at an UBahn station (24/48/72-hour Vienna cards, weekly/monthly passes) and validate (stamp) it on the bus. There is a path next to the hostel which takes you through vineyards and a nice neighbourhood and leads to a 46 bus stop or a 44 tram stop. If they can, they will give you a room with a view. The beds were quite hard, and if you like a soft and high pillow, you might want to fold the one they give you. The blanket was light. The ladder to climb to the top bed creaked. There are toilets downstairs next to the breakfast room. The hostel is a common choice for school trips, so there might be some children running.

Ok, If you're traveling and looking for a good hostel vibes with activities and things happening around you for young people THIS IS NOT THE PLACE, it's mostly for older people Cleanness was good, closes everything early (doors, kitchen "which is only a microwave and a fridge") Don't book here unless you want a very calm, dead kind of hostel but with a very nice view of the city Staff was friendly

Four stars for the view and location. Ordinary hostel, no kitchen /or place to stach food, or grill outside. No Tv (world cup Soccer on now) Håkan /Sweden

Bitten by bed bugs, and floor under beds is unbelievably messy and full of dust. Food was nice, I liked it. The view from outside is amazing, and there is bus stop nearby which can take us to Ottakring, where you can find metro.
