PLATINA is a European Platform aimed to assist the European Commission with implementation of the EU NAIADES action plan to promote and develop inland waterway transport. It brings together all the relevant actors in the inland waterway sector in a multi-disciplinary knowledge network to foster the development of inland navigation into an even more sustainable and competitive part of multimodal European transport networks. PLATINA is implemented by a consortium of 12 partners from seven different countries and funded by the European Commission (DG MOVE) under the 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development.
