Visited on July 4th. We were welcomed warmly as Americans! The second floor is a museum with the Hollywood and true family stories contrasted. Our whole family loved the store and museum. We feel this is a "must-see" for Sound of Music lovers. The proprietors were attentive and friendly and we left the store/museum with a more rich understanding of the Von Trapp family.

There were closed, even though they had multiple signs saying they're open from 10am to 6pm. But they then had one small sign saying they have different hours for Sundays and holy days.

Amazing little corner in Salzburg! You can find anything related to The Sound of Music and its original history in this cozy store. They have everything from books to curiosities; and upstairs there is a museum dedicated to the true story. Must see! Content available in English (books and more).

Totally expected the museum to be super cheesy, but was so pleasantly surprised! It was amazing, if you have an interest in the true story of the Trapp family. It also covers the filming of the movie so any Sound of Music fans will love it, too! Great historical background. Fantastic!

The gift shop is worth a walk through. The museum is worth going thru if you have the time and are a movie buff.

Surprisingly interesting museum. Debunked some of the inaccuracies of the film.
