During the months that I spent in Vienna I visited the botanical garden several times and it never fails to fascinate me. Autumn and spring are by far the best times to fully appreciate the incredible variety of plants and flowers that create a wonderful color palette and to take some amazing pics of it! It's also contiguous to the Belvedere palace, so you can visit to great places in one go!

A very interesting place for people who like plants. There are plenty of plants from all over the world. The place itself very quiet and very suitable for walking and enjoying in nature. It is very visited and tourists from all over the world come here.If you find yourself in Vienna, be sure to visit this place.

For me one the most beautiful places in Vienna. Very pretty area, exotic trees and free entry. Just great.

When you visit the Belvedere, don't miss out this lovely botanic garden. It might not be the biggest but it's perfect if you need a short break from the city and the museum or if you just want to see some flowers and trees Don't miss it! It's free of charge by the way.

Been here in late August. One of the loveliest Botanical Gardens I've visited; of course not as large as the one in Berlin for example, but packed with great species from each important or common family. I appreciated how they managed to include several species of the same genus (that you could actually see) and not simply have only one representative plant for each genus. You could really tell that they put a lot of work, both academically/scientifically and aesthetically/ for someone who is not initiated in Botany and simply enjoys the views and the wonderful flowers. Apart from a taxonomic arrangement of the families they also have plants grouped geographically, like in most Botanical Gardens, but it really is a treat for the eye to look at. They have larger/older/more exotic trees in the coniferous section and also a great bamboo forest. Very suitable for families with children. One of the greatest features (and what sets it apart from the other gardens) is the online game you can play while in here, with little quests and curiosities about several species. Enjoyed how they managed to tell a story or immerse practically anyone in the Botanical sciences. Best of: it's free for anyone to visit. It would be a pity not to come here while in Vienna, it is a small but captivating world of beautiful plants that does not take more than 1-2 hours to visit.
