any time of the year it’s always great to visit the Palmenhouse. with it’s huge palm trees and great variety of other plants it feels like you have been teleported to a rain forest. nice place to relax.

The greenhouse was built by Ignaz Gridl and inaugurated by Franz Joseph I. in June 1882. A bomb attack on Schönbrunn Palace in February 1945. destroyed the glass of the greenhouse and many plants died. The renovated Palmenhaus was reopened in 1953. Today, about 4,500 plant species live inside.
The building itself is very unique and breathtaking. There are lots of spots for great photo shoots (in terms of architecture and flora). The collection itself is rich (worth mentioning are cycads, ferns and some very old palms), but the building is kind of small. It isn't a drawback though. Great place to chill.
Such a beautiful and magical place! I could walk here for hours and hours
Beautiful place. The best calming place, beautiful flowers
such a beautiful and calm place to visit, we were there for 2 hours and didn’t wanna go home, you can breathe there with full lungs
I’ve been to a lot of greenhouses and this is definitely my favourite one. The building is old fashioned and makes this place really stylish. It was so nice to get inside after freezing rain, maybe that’s why I loved it so much :)
Green space restaurant & cafe with lively casual ambience. There are lot of palm tree as unique decor. Good for family, couple and friends. There are seafood, burger, cake, coffee in one place. Restroom is good, staffs are friendly for tourists.
