Great consulate, quick service, efficient, friendly staff. Renewing my passport. Had my appointment on Thursday the 7th of January 2021 at 8:45am in Vienna, Austria. Went a bit early, they called me in, from entering the consulate till I left, it took less than 20min. Today is the 12th of January 2021, and I received my renewed passport through the post. Even though I was told within 10 days, it took 2 working days. I am very happy with the great service. Proud to be an American. And thank you for the US for making us proud in an international country This is also my second time to renew my passport in Austria since 2012 ️ When I went last year to renew my Austrian passport and ID, it took longer than this to wait at the office, the delivery took few weeks. Really it’s a disgrace for Austria. Once again, a massive thank you to all the staff at the US Consulate and for their service despite the corona pandemic. Hygiene, hand sanitiser, etc etc is always there. Very clean, smells great, everyone wearing face masks

True they are friendly especialy the Consular Officer, but Unfortunately I did not get the visa today after 3 min Interview and I think I was the only one :(, and it was clear even before to meeting with the consul, after I handed the passport in office No. 4 he told me that there are many applications from my country, and this is completely incorrect, in an implicit indication that I will not get a visa, that what i understood, It is written that the social and economic situation is taken into consideration, but he did not see even my bank statement at all.I did not understand how to prove to him that I would leave the United States after the expiry of the visa period, simply because I have a job and I have proof of my country of origin and my multiple visits are visible in the passport every year. Not mentioned ...... Unfortunately I just wanted to see New York in the New Year..but that didn't happen

Excellent Consulate, had only good experiences with the wait times and appointments. It's important to note that you should arrive without electronics (no laptop, no table), and only bring your phone, passport and any other documents you might need.

The staff and officers there are extremely friendly, helpful and patient! (perhaps the most friendly U.S. consulate office I ever visted). They are also very great at responding emails. They usually get back to you within few hours or even minutes. I am very impressed!

This is a post of appreciation to the US Consulate in Vienna, Austria for how accommodating, kind, and wonderful they have been during this time of uncertainty. Thank you in helping me reunite with my husband despite all embassy closures and delays occurring around the world! It is SO appreciated.

Fourth floor security: US paranoia meets Wiener grant. All other staff: very helpful as long as you don't need to inquire via phone or email....
