The efficient planning of major shale gas projects is possible with XL-Operations whilst minimizing land intrusion, resources and the environmental impact. Using XLO, the material needed for setting up the pads can be planned and reduced creating considerable savings by minimizing expensive operating hours. Project planning, which would normally take weeks, is possible in a few days or even hours, and because the drilling pads can be made smaller, less space is required for equipment, which consequently improves drilling optimization. The XLO solution is primarily targeted at the US market, but initial results have identified further applications in cooperation with Austrian geothermal energy and construction companies.
